The City has welcomed Theresa May's desire to seek a transitional period as part of the UK's Brexit deal with the EU, but the financial services industry is still awaiting key details before resting easy.

The prime minister gave a speech outlining her Brexit objectives on January 17, in which she confirmed that the UK will leave the single market while seeking "the greatest possible access".
