The autumn is usually a busy time for recruiters, who visit universities up and down the UK to take part in recruitment fairs to tout summer internship programmes and graduate trainee schemes.

But university cities are among some of the worst hit by the Covid pandemic, with rising outbreaks on campuses forcing students to self-isolate and take part in lectures and seminars from their bedrooms. Fund managers are turning to online tools to help them attract graduates during the pandemic.
