Calpers to double hedge fund allocation

The $245bn (€183bn) California Public Employees' Retirement System has approved plans which could see it double investment in corporate governance and hedge funds as it seeks to reduce market risk.

The largest US pension fund plans to increase allocations to both types of funds from $5bn to more than $10bn. The money will come from Calpers' passive global equity portfolios.
