Helen Steers, a partner and the head of European primary investment at fund of funds Pantheon, has been named as the chair of the trade body representing private equity firms in the UK.

Steers - who was named as one the most influential women in finance by FN earlier this year - will be the first investor to take the role at the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.
