Business conferences could return without social distancing this summer

Early data from a government pilot scheme showed no spike in Covid infections from events

Large events such as business conferences could return safely this summer without the need for enforced social distancing, a report is set to inform MPs.

A pilot programme by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport is set to publish an interim report stating that trials of reopened events could go ahead without distancing, provided that other precautions such as staggered entry and ventilation are in place.
