Bush picks central bank vice chairman

Federal Reserve governor Donald Kohn has been selected by President Bush as the US central bank's vice chairman under new chief Ben Bernanke.

Kohn, a 36-year Fed veteran who served as former chairman Alan Greenspan's top strategist, will replace Roger Ferguson, who left in April.
