BlackRock files for bitcoin ETF in the US

BlackRock has lodged a filing with the US regulator to launch an exchange traded fund to offer investors exposure to bitcoin — the world's most popular cryptocurrency.

According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, submitted on 15 June, the iShares Bitcoin Trust would use Coinbase as its custodian and would track the cryptocurrency's underlying price.
