Black Diamond, a US alternative asset firm, is opening a new office in London and has appointed Peter Cannon to run it.

Cannon was previously a senior portfolio manager at RMF Investment Management, a subsidiary of Man Group, where he helped to developed the firm's collaterised debt obligation business. He has also worked at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers as a senior fund manager.
