Bitstamp CEO Julian Sawyer leaves crypto exchange in surprise move after less than 18 months in role

Jean-Baptiste Graftieaux will succeed him as chief executive

Julian Sawyer who was serving as chief executive at cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp has left the company effective immediately.

In a 9 May statement, the company said Sawyer — who was CEO for a little over a year after taking on the role in October of 2020 —  “decided to pursue other opportunities”.
