Billionaire John Caudwell: ‘I’ll still build London’s most expensive homes despite UK wealth exodus’

Properties on Caudwell’s £2bn Mayfair development will start at £35m with three penthouses commanding the top £200m price tag

John Caudwell, the billionaire behind Phones4U, is pushing ahead with his plan to create London’s most expensive residential development, despite wealthy UK nom-doms leaving the country due to tax changes.

The 72-year-old told Financial News that the abolition of the non-dom regime announced in October 2024 hasn’t deterred global billionaires from eyeing 1 Mayfair.
