The likelihood of US President Donald Trump being impeached remains strong at more than 90%, according to betting markets, as the leader of the free world sits out his last nine days in office.

The odds of Trump being impeached before the end of his presidential term reached a high of 94% on 10 January, online betting platform Smarkets showed, as echoes from the Senate about an impending decision abounded.
