Berenberg has named a new head of its European investment bank, promoting a long-serving executive to lead its business from the UK as it ramps up its ambitions for its dealmaking unit.

Laura Janssens is set to become head of European investment banking, according to an internal memo seen by Financial News. Janssens has been leading the German bank's European equities unit since 2020 and also heading up its UK operations, which is its key hub in the region.
