Barclays Wealth survey shows South Africa, India and Ireland are following the US as the most generous nations in the world

The USA has long been considered the vanguard of philanthropy, with generous tax breaks and a culture of demonstrative giving led by high profile givers like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett

But a new survey from Barclays Wealth shows South Africa, India and Ireland are following the US as the world's most generous nations in donating both time and money to charitable causes.
