Bank's legal team takes aim at the true nature of the £3.25bn deal's terms

Barclays has zeroed in on the discussions surrounding the deal terms between financier Amanda Staveley and Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Mansour in November 2008, accusing Staveley of “embellishing” her story.

Staveley, the chief executive of private equity firm PCP Capital Partners, is suing the blue-chip bank over its 2008 emergency cash call, amid the financial crisis.
