Barclays hires Deutsche Numis co-CEO Ham in dealmaking push

The UK lender is looking to bolster its advisory and ECM fees

Barclays has hired Alex Ham, the former co-CEO of City broker Numis, as it looks to boost its equity capital markets and M&A fees.

Ham, who co-heads Deutsche Numis alongside Ross Mitchinson, is set to join Barclays as global chair of investment banking in early 2026, according to a statement from the UK lender.
