Barclays chief executive Venkat takes over from Noel Quinn as Financial Services Taskforce chair

The HSBC boss had chaired the sustainable finance initiative since it kicked off in 2020

Barclays chief executive C S Venkatakrishnan is set to take over as chair of a UK group that brings together banks to tackle climate change, succeeding former HSBC boss Noel Quinn.

Venkatakrishnan, known as Venkat, has been named chair of the Sustainable Markets Initiative’s Financial Services Taskforce, a group where banking chief executives focus on financing the move towards net-zero carbon emissions.
