Barclays’ chief executive said that its commitment to diversity remains “enduring and unwavering” despite the UK lender backtracking from some targets in the US following the crackdown by president Donald Trump’s administration.

C. S. Venkatakrishnan, chief executive of Barclays, told reporters on its first quarter earnings call that the UK lender “should provide an inclusive working environment” in order to be able to hire “the best sources of talent across the world”.
