Barclays boss Jes Staley has urged Britain to use its separation from the EU on the back of Brexit as an opportunity to ramp up its competitiveness to carve out a new place for itself on the globe.

"I think what London needs to be focused on is not Frankfurt or Paris – it needs to be focused on New York and Singapore,” Staley said in an interview with the BBC on 5 February.
