The UK lender is responding to regulatory moves in the US, but has echoed many Wall Street rivals with its new in-office policy

Barclays has asked its dealmakers to return to the office five days a week in the latest reversal of hybrid working arrangements by a large investment bank.

The UK lender has told its global team of dealmakers to either return to the office five days a week or travel to see clients, according to a memo sent to staff on 23 May.
