Banks turn to geopolitical advice as global tensions escalate

Investment banks have seen a surge in demand for geopolitical advice over the past year. Many are hoping it will feed through to more lucrative dealmaking fees

Lazard’s geopolitical advisory unit kicked off around six months after Russia started its invasion of Ukraine.

The independent investment bank’s team, headed by Theodore Bunzel, is aimed at helping corporations make sense of an increasingly volatile world.
