Wall Street and European investment banks are set to embark on a hiring spree for senior dealmakers in anticipation of a boom in M&A over the coming 12 months.

Firms are “pulling the trigger” on plans for hires that they delayed in response to a lukewarm start to deals in the first half of the year, according to senior bankers and specialist headhunters.
