Hedge fund boss Chris Hohn slams banks over climate hypocrisy

'Shareholders should vote against the directors of banks who are hiding their exposure to climate risk,' the billionaire hedge fund manager said

Banks making net-zero promises while lobbying against climate regulation is “greenwashing”, according to billionaire hedge-fund boss Sir Chris Hohn.

“Any bank making a net-zero promise whilst actively lobbying against necessary climate regulation – such as mandatory disclosure of borrowers’ emissions and climate action plans – is greenwashing,” Sir Chris, founder and portfolio manager of TCI Fund Management, said in a 25 March statement.
