Bankers call for overrule on E.ON

German energy bankers have come out in favour of a controversial decision that should see the German government overruling its own cartel office.

They are concerned that last week's decision by the Bundeskartelamt (cartel office) to block a deal between BP and E.On on antitrust grounds could, ironically, act as a setback to the liberalisation of the German gas market.
