Appointment comes as US tariffs put global financial markets in a tailspin

Bank of England governor Andrew Bailey has been appointed the next chair of the Financial Stability Board as a wave of US tariffs roils global markets.

Bailey won unanimous backing for his nomination to lead the group, which comprises financial regulators around the world, the FSB said in a statement.
