Baillie Gifford opens Shanghai office to assist China push

The Edinburgh-headquartered asset manager, has opened an office in Shanghai, making it the latest fund group to embark on a push into the Chinese market

Baillie Gifford, the Edinburgh-headquartered asset manager, has opened an office in Shanghai, making it the latest funds group to embark on a push into the Chinese market.

The Scottish fund manager, which manages more than £260bn in assets, has also registered as a private securities fund manager in China. Both its new office and licence allows it to invest in “more exciting” Chinese companies and launch private funds catering to Chinese investors.
