Atom Bank posts first profitable month ahead of IPO plans

Fintech banks across the UK are jostling to book consistent profits as they mature

Digital lender Atom Bank has reported its first monthly profit, as it aims for longer term earnings ahead of a planned listing of its shares.

The Durham-based fintech firm said it had recorded its first profitable month since its founding in 2014, released as part of a trading update on 9 August. The bank is aiming for an initial public offering in the financial year 2022/23.
