Asset managers to raise ‘concerns’ over share buybacks in FCA probe

The City regulator has contacted seven banks as part of a probe into buybacks

Asset managers are set to raise any concerns they have about share buybacks as part of the City regulator’s probe into the practice.

Following a request from the Investment Association, the Financial Conduct Authority told the trade body last week that its members could feed views into an assessment of how banks handle buybacks for UK-listed firms.
