Asset managers specialising in private markets are expecting bonuses as high as 105% of salary this year as variable compensation across the sector is set to rise after a dire 2023.

Last year, bonuses for fund professionals tumbled by around 30%, but most are now expecting a bounce back in variable pay, according to a survey of more than 500 candidates and clients by City headhunters Leverton Search.
