Aquis Exchange and Cboe Europe have abandoned a potential bid to become the European Union’s main source of equity trading data.

After exploring a bid to become the bloc’s so-called consolidated tape provider, the exchanges have decided not to participate in the public tender process, according to an 8 January statement.
