Andrea Orcel is moving ahead with a huge lawsuit against Santander over the Spanish bank’s decision to withdraw its offer to make the former UBS banker its chief executive.

Orcel has sent a claim to Santander asking that the bank either honour an initial contract to make him chief executive or pay him damages of €100m, according to a person familiar with the matter.
