Andersen starts dismantling in the US

Arthur Andersen has taken the first step toward breaking up its US business, agreeing a deal to let most of its tax specialists move to rival Deloitte & Touche.

Andersen said that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Deloitte for a &quotsignificant number&quot of its tax partners and professionals to join the firm but gave no further details.
