“My god. It had the power to properly shock.” That is how Jayne-Anne Gadhia refers to the undercover investigation that exposed widespread sexual harassment at a London charity dinner last month.

“I was shocked, my team was shocked, the entire City was shocked,” says the chief executive of Virgin Money, who led the UK government’s 2016 review into women in finance. “We all thought this was behind us but there it is lurking in the shadows. It’s a return to the sleazy 1970s.”
