Amundi, Europe's largest asset manager, has bought Swiss private markets specialist Alpha Associates, making it the latest fund group to expand into the booming asset class through acquisition.

The Paris-headquartered asset manager announced on 7 February that it will acquire the Zurich-based firm for up to €350m, a move set to boost its existing private markets capabilities to around €20bn.
