Allianz, the German insurance group, has received at least two firm proposals in the past few months from outside investors wanting to take a stake in Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, its investment banking arm.

It is understood that the supervisory board at Allianz, which is run by Michael Diekmann, is considering one of the proposals.
