Alliance offers model for valuing share options

Small UK companies worried about the impact of valuing share options have a new tool.

The Quoted Companies Alliance, an association of small and medium-sized organisations, has offered a free model for valuing share options which, it claims is easier for smaller groups. Under new accounting rules, companies are required to account for employee share options as an expense, a move that may disproportionately affect smaller ones, which use options to provide incentives.
