The man accused of raping a female graduate trainee at UBS, the Swiss bank, could become the first person ever to be banned from working in financial services in the UK because of sexual misconduct or assault.

A person close to the Financial Conduct Authority confirmed the regulator is deciding whether to bring a formal investigation against the alleged rapist as well as another of the female trader’s superiors, who is alleged to have groped her in a separate incident.
