The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales has ended its search for a new chief executive, as Alan Vallance prepares to take over as head of the organisation.

Vallance, who is a qualified chartered accountant and longstanding fellow of the ICAEW, joined the Chartered Insurance Institute last August, having previously led the Royal Institute of British Architects and been chief operating officer at the Law Society.
