A&O Shearman is pushing to challenge the top law firms globally after finalising its blockbuster tie-up nearly a year after the merger was announced, according to its new leaders.

Magic Circle firm Allen & Overy’s $3.5bn merger with New York-headquartered Shearman & Sterling completed on 1 May.
