3i's Yea joins Vodafone

Vodafone, the mobile telephone network operator, has appointed Philip Yea, chief executive of 3i, as a non-executive director with effect from September 1.

His appointment comes amid a reshuffle of Vodafone's board in which Luc Vandevelde, a partner at private equity retail specialist Change Capital and former chairman of Marks & Spencer, succeeds Penny Hughes as chairman of Vodafone's remuneration committee.
